A COUPLE OF DAYS IN CLARKSTON
I learn a lot from voters, so I want to give them every opportunity to talk to me.
I was in Pullman for a house party Friday evening where I got amazing feedback from really smart people - and my hosts had suggested that I attend the protest the next day at noon. I agreed - but also announced that I'd be at Pups & Cups Coffee in the early morning then at RICO's in the late morning. A couple of supporters came in for coffee. At Rico's things were pretty quiet and I got some one-on-one time with a real expert on the Snake River and Ag... Then during the last half hour several people came in to share their ideas and ask me tough questions - the kind of questions a candidate should be prepared to answer and I did.
But David came in all the up from Clarkston to invite me to a pop-up protest against the Iran strikes there on Sunday.
Once there, Beth told me that there was a lunch meeting of the Democratic Women's Club the next day and invited me to attend. There was a fantastic discussion about childcare and the economic benefits of implementing reforms of how we go about caring for our children in the United States.
And we got Play-Dough.
After the lunch I walked precincts until sunset. Greg is now supporting me and put up a sign for me after we talked about his Corvair - but I think her REALLY liked that I was from Petaluma and knew a lot about AMERICAN GRAFFITI.
I'm staying with supporters Mark and Amy in Pomeroy tonight. Mark made hummus from garbanzo beans grown in Whitman County - and now I know where to get them!
That's my job: LISTEN --> LEARN --> LEAD.
