The tremendous response from Eastern Washington—as well as the nation—to the story I am trying to tell has been extraordinarily encouraging, and for that I say "THANK YOU!"

A search of the name "Bajun Mavalwalla" on YouTube brings up a video of myself on Democracy Now! where there are half a million views. There are local video reels of me going door-to-door right here in Eastern Washington with views in the thousands.

And of course there is the PBS NewsHour piece featuring my son with close to 350,000 views.

A few years ago our family was featured in Stars and Stripes about the effects that war had on our family. This story was picked up by the BBC from the United Kingdom and even NHK—a Japanese television outlet.

My son and I share a name, and our stories are now forever linked as he fights for justice and I run for Congress.

We believe in this country and the Bill of Rights.
