Слава Україні!
I first went to Ukraine in 1992 as an Interpretor with the California Army National Guard. It was the first mission to Ukraine by US troops since the Second World War. That mission evolved into the State Partnership Program between the California National Guard at the Ukrainian military and over a period of 30 years, Soldier Skill training, NCO corps development, cross training of officers, a deliberate shift away from Soviet doctrine, and joint and combined training between US, NATO, and other international forces prepared Ukraine for the Russian Threat.
If you're wondering why the much smaller Ukrainian military has been able to best the Russians time and time again - it is because Ukraine modernized the the Russians are still stuck in a Soviet mindset.
In October of 2022 I returned to Lviv, Ukraine. The full-scale Russian invasion was already imploding and it was clear that all the USA needed to do was arm Ukraine and provide them with the ammunition they needed and the Russians could never win.
Four years later - the ONLY way Russia wins is if we abandon our allies.
